Smartran is assisting and advising the rail industry in connection with procurement of a smart card back office to enable the Train Operating Companies to participate in regional smart card schemes. The work has involved architecture specification, high level design, requirements definition, volume analysis, project planning, establishing an evaluation process, overall tender evaluation, detailed assessment of responses, supplier visits, investigation of options, development of a business case and presentation of findings.
