I was delighted to have the opportunity again to chair one of the streams at Transport Ticketing Global and help ensure that speakers and delegates got the best from the event.
This year saw many more mobile ticketing propositions alongside the regular supplier booths. With ITSO moving forward with a mobile proposition and TfL accepting Android/ApplePay, it is still to be seen whether a majority of customers are comfortable getting their mobile out while passing through gates and boarding a bus.
On Day 2, it was invaluable to learn about schemes around the globe including improving the customer experience in London, introducing contactless EMV in South Africa, reducing dependency on TVMs in Oregon and preparing for millions of journeys to the Rio Olympics back in 2016. I look forward to following progress with these schemes and other presented at the event.
